Ideas that were worked on at Support Staff Training included
For Timaru - A seminar for Support staff on Behaviour Management Strategies 19 August , fliers will be sent to schools early in term 2
Nelson are planning a Support Staff dinner recognising Leaders in the area for Thurs 17 June and planning is underway for a similiar event for Blenhein on June 16.
Golden Bay is again planning their lunch date for Support staff in the area and Motueka are pulling together plans…

Had a student with dyslexia who had never read a book - got her to look at a graphic novel. From success reading that, she has now progressed to reading books without the graphics.
Clicker programme (programme for computers that assist in the learning)at school has meant that a child who was not engaging at all in his learning is now rushing to get into the class room and work on the programme. Next steps are to get him enthusiastic about…

Lucky me - here I am working with another great group of Support Staff that deliver fantastic outcomes for the children that they work with - some of the stories included:
The sports co-ordinator that is employed for 15 hours per week but regularly works 25 due to the requests from teachers for support. Why does the person do it? Because otherwise the children miss out.
