Gaye Parlane appeared on TV3's ASB Business programme this morning as part of a story on the wage freeze and once again pushed the support staff cause. Yay Gaye! Media Coverage

Well done to all those support staff who spoke to the media or contacted the media during Friday's events. The messages came through really clearly. The media coverage has been pretty comprehensive, especially in the provincial and regional papers and there should be more as some of the smaller papers covered events, but are published weekly or bi-weekly. Well done to Heather McLachlan from Oxford Area School in Cantebury.I rang her yesterday at the last minute wanting to get a support staff member to do an interview on Jim Mora's afternoon programme on National Radio to mark Support Staff Day. Heather said she was willing to do it and she did a fantastic job. She got to choose her "Best Song Ever Made" and got in some great plugs for NZEI, support staff and Support Staff Day.
