Pay equity petition sidelined

Thousands of NZEI school suport staff members signed MP Sue Moroney's petition, calling on Government to investigate school support staff pay and address the gender pay gap. The petition was referred to the Transport and Industrial Relations Committee. Without hearing from any petitioners, the committee decided to take no action on the petition. All power to everyone taking the message to MPs with the pledge over the next few days, especially those rallying and marching. The community supports you because your work contributes to the community as a whole and you are essential to the work of our schools. Pay Equity Rally June 30 at Parliament

Anyone who supports the Fair Deal campaign and who can come to Parliament at lunchtime on 30 June should come along. Unions and community groups are joining forces to rally for pay equity at 12.30pm.
