Sorry to post such a sobering story on a day of celebration for support staff in Aotearoa, but here's what's happening to many support staff workers in schools across the USA. Happy Library Week

Wishing all NZEI Support Staff members working in school libraries a happy Library Week. It's amazing to look back 30 years ago and see that we were talking about the same issues back then. Check out this report from National Education, (NZEI's journal pre-RouRou), from February 1979, calling for qualified school librarians for schools - to make the best use of resources for all our children. A good call in 1979; still a good call in 2009.…See More
