Supporting Success in Education

Wishing all NZEI Support Staff members working in school libraries a happy Library Week. It's amazing to look back 30 years ago and see that we were talking about the same issues back then. Check out this report from National Education, (NZEI's journal pre-RouRou), from February 1979, calling for qualified school librarians for schools - to make the best use of resources for all our children. A good call in 1979; still a good call in 2009. What School Libraries Need Most.pdf
Support staff workers in libraries can and do make a tremendous contribution to the lives of children in many different ways. Keep fighting the good fight, and enjoy Library Week celebrations in your schools and local libraries.
