southland support staff afternoon tea and support staff day dinner

Hi all the support staff in Southland!

It was great to see over 30 of you at the ss afternoon tea! Thanks you so much for filling out the issues flyer - so we can see what the issues are in our area, and the pay equity petition! It was a great hour and a half of informal chat and a chance just to get together - very special thanks to our SSNCKT rep Jo Vaughan who organised it all! Isn't she great! remember - any issues you feel need to be raised just email her - her contact info is on those frequent newsletters she sends out to you. If you hear of them and aren't getting them - phone 0800 693443 and ask them to put you on the southland email tree for support staff by letting the invercargill office know! Jo is busy with the national meeting this week and she is organising the support staff day dinner - so if any of you lovely people out there would like to give her a hand with these things to make it a bit easier she would really appreciate it!!

See you all on the 11th June at the ss day dinner - yet to be confirmed but tentatively the Invercargill Working Mens Club at 7pm . Invites on their way shortly to all support staff members, plus the subsidised cost of the meal - let's see if we can break the attendance record of 76 this year!!

We might be asking you to bring a good news story about your jobs too - so have a think! - If it works out we are looking at a small local booklet of them and maybe an exhibition at the local library! Info coming soon with your invite!
