Supporting Success in Education

Support Staff who attended the recent seminar in Kaikohe, Northland had a great discussion about how community newspapers could be utilised as part of the campaign. They talked about using good news stories to promote understanding of the valuable work of support staff. Once published stories can be forwarded to MPs to press the case for a Fair Deal for School Support Staff. A handout of these ideas is attached.

This is a great. The good thing is that in heaps of areas community newspapers have already covered the campaign and members can take those stories to their local MP and ask them how they are going to ensure a fair deal for their local hardworking and invaluable school support staff. Every time a story appears in local papers it is a really good idea to ask family and friends to write letters in support, challenging the local MP to support their local school communities by taking up the cause with the PM and Minister and Education.
